Greg joined the Action News team in January of 2012 as the morning/noon meteorologist.
Greg was born and raised in Central New Jersey where he endured almost every kind of weather phenomenon growing up. When he was seven years old, he lived through the paralyzing and crippling blizzard of 1996 where nearly three feet of snow blanketed the region. This anomaly of nature enticed Greg’s curiosity, giving him reason to discover the science behind these conditions and thus commenced his passion for weather. Greg took this passion and turned it into his career.
Greg attended the University at Albany in Albany, N.Y. where he majored in Broadcast Meteorology along with geography and business. He was an active member of Albany Student Television where he was a weathercaster for ATV 360, the station’s news program. He also was the creator and executive producer for the station’s first ever game show. He gained his forecasting experience through one of the top Atmospheric Science departments in the nation. He took part in Albany’s short-term and 3-5 Day forecasting contests as well as the National Weather Challenge where numerous schools across the country competed.
The summer before his senior year, Greg interned at WMGM-TV in Atlantic City, N.J. where he gained valuable experience forecasting for Southern Jersey. He then took up another internship at WNYT in Albany in the winter of 2010..
After graduating college, Greg started his career at KVRR, the FOX station affiliate in Fargo, N.D. as their Weekend Meteorologist. While in Fargo, he experienced two true blizzards and wind chills as low as -50°. Greg is thrilled to be back in the northeast forecasting for the ever-changing weather of the Twin Tiers.
