Michelle joined the WBNG team in July 2012. She is the Weekend Meteorologist and a Reporter on the weekdays.
Michelle graduated from Plymouth State University with a Meteorology degree. She also minored in Spanish and Math. While at PSU, Michelle was a member of the American Meteorological Society student chapter, participated in nationwide forecast contests, and did weekly weather broadcasts for the local access channel and surrounding towns. Before transferring to PSU, she attended the University of New Hampshire, where she volunteered at the campus radio station as an Events Reporter. Michelle completed an internship at WIVB in Buffalo during the summer of 2011, where she gained invaluable experience and learned the ins and outs of broadcasting.
Michelle was always interested in weather, even as a child. Nor'Easters and summer thunderstorms are at the top of her list. Her family is originally from the Buffalo area and she has spent every summer on the shores of Lake Erie. Every time a thunderstorm would roll in across the lake, she would ask what was causing it. When no one could give her a “good enough” answer, she decided she needed to become a meteorologist and find out for herself!
A true New-Englander, Michelle loves the outdoors and the seacoast. She enjoys skiing, boating, traveling, singing, eating seafood, and spending time with family and friends. She is also a sports fan! Michelle played rugby in college, and you can find her rooting for her favorite sports teams year-round.
Michelle is very excited to be here in the Twin Tiers. She looks forward to meeting new people and discovering everything that the area has to offer!
