A six month investigation breaks up a major drug ring in Broome County.

Police displayed nearly pound of crack cocaine confiscated during a search of homes and a car.

It's valued at about 50 thousand dollars.

They also found money, an AK-47 assault rifle, marijuana and other drug paraphernalia.

5 people are in jail charged with drug crimes.

"Our information was that these subjects were distributing throughout Broome County and the Southern Tier area," says Pat Garey of New York State Police.

Thursday night police executed search warrants at 6 Carlton Street and 116 Liberty Street in Binghamton and 19 Wells Avenue in Johnson City.

Police arrested 22 year olds Shannon Warren, Terrell Warren and 25 year old Alisha Fresina, all of Binghamton.

37 year old Steven Byrd of Johnson City, and 17 year old Van Snipes who has no address.

The investigation continues.

It's a joint operation among 5 police agencies.
