Renovations have been in the works for more than 5 years...

And, Thursday night the Goodwill Theatre offered an update.

It opened up the Firehouse Stage, sharing the progress and plans of the theatre's Performing Arts Complex and School.

Goodwill's restoration project got underway in 2002.

It includes renovating the entire theatre, and connecting to 2 surrounding buildings to create a multi-stage complex.

So far, the Firehouse Stage has been newly restored.

And the theatre has a brand new roof.

"It's a fabulous structure. It's got the best acoustics and most beautiful architectural structure for theater, for performance in Broome County. It's an excellent space and it should be used," says Naima Kradjian of the Goodwill Theatre.
