It's a tough task for many drivers to get home Thursday night.

Here on Carlton Street in Johnson City, clearing the snow is a family effort.

Barbara Dudla and her 8-year-old grandson try to make a dent.

"I like to shovel if I know we're having a big storm, so that every couple of hours I'm shoveling. It's easier than to pick up 8 inches, as to pick up 2," says Dudla.

"So what do you think about all this snow?" "Heavy," says Nicholas Lloyd of Johnson City.

Michelle Luttman was in Johnson City trying to get back home to Owego, but the snowy roads weren't making it easy.

"Second year I've driven in the snow, last year I was in two accidents, so I'm kind of used to it at this point," says Luttman.

On Harry L Drive, neighbors Ujuana Jackson and Tammy Pecker worked hard to clear the snow so they could do something a little more fun.

"I'm loving it. I can't wait to go and play in it. That's why I'm plowing now, and I'm heading off to the park, me and my friends, and we're going sleighriding," says Ujuana Jackson of Johnson City.
