A man arrested in a meth drug bust is going to prison for life.

Leonard Sonny Howell of Port Crane was sentenced in federal court in Binghamton.

He was among 6 people arrested as a result of an investigation called Operation Crystal Apple a year ago.

After searching several homes in Broome County, area police confiscated 4 pounds of methamphetamine.

The US Attorney's office says the meth was made in Arizona to be sold in the Southern Tier.

Howell was convicted of conspiring to distribute methamphetamine.
