Meth Lab Busted

An initiative to rid the area of Methamphetamine does just that in Chemung County.

Chemung County Sheriff's Deputies have arrested 38 year-old Richard Thompson of Millport New York.

When Deputies searched Thompson's home on Watkins Road they discovered a methamphetamine lab, and a weapon.

Thompson is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree.

Criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.

And Burglary in the second degree.

Thompson was arraigned in the Veteran Town Court, and taken to the Chemung County Jail.

The arrest was the result of an ongoing program called Project RAM...

Rid the Area of Methamphetamines.

It's a Chemung County Sheriff's Office program funded by the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services.
