State Police believe they will make an arrest in connection with a hate prank at a school in Chenango County.

Last week, a noose was found hanging outside of the room of a teacher at Unadilla Valley Central School in New Berlin.

Mark Montgomery is a counselor for at risk students.

He's also African American.

Troopers say the noose was made from a clothesline.

The U-V Superintendent believes Montgomery is one of the most popular teachers in the school.

State Police believe it's an isolated prank but they're taking the investigation very seriously.
