Snow started falling steadily Tuesday morning, but by the evening it's picked up the pace.

Concerns about driving conditions caused schools to let out early and canceled many night events.

Over the last few hours, this storm has really picked up.

We're here in Johnson City, and the snow is coming down quickly...

Of course, just in time for the afternoon commute.

And it's causing some accidents out there

Take a look at this video from earlier Tuesday afternoon.

And as you can see this storm is affecting driving conditions.

A driver on Oakdale Road lost control and hit this pole.

We're told his injuries were minor.

The snow is accumulating.

But really, it looks like ice also a concern.

Crews are out there doing their best to keep the roads salted.

And one way folks at home can help out crews is to keep cars off the streets.

Local governments are urging you to avoid parking on the street.

So the plows can do their job.
