Broome County will host the New York State Special Olympics Summer Games.
It's held the Fall games in 2006.
This is the first time for the Summer Games.
The organizing committee began making plans today.
More than 22 hundred athletes and coaches will compete June 12 - 14.
Binghamton University in Vestal will host the games.
Organizers are looking for 13 hundred volunteers to help.
"The support from the community, it's an enriched community here in Binghamton. We're able to host everything locally, not having to travel a large distance," Special Olympics Vice President Steve Fuller.
