Trustee Dennis Hannon wants the state comptrollers office to audit the village's payroll from June 1998 to May of this year.
Hannon says he has reason to believe a high-ranking village official has been mis-appropriating funds.
"This apparent mis-appropriations of public funds amounts to thousands of dollars. More specifically I'm asking for a complete review of the payroll relating to payments of employees for holiday pay, compensitory time, sick time, vacation and overtime," says Hannon.
"If you look at the full details behind it, its not, not as large as some people want to make it. I don't think, I think Trustee could have waited until we try to get the full story behind it all, although sometimes people jump to conclusions before they do they're homework," says JC Mayor Harry Lewis.
There are no details made available about who this official may be.
The board held over the resolution until the next meeting to give trustees a better chance to discuss the issue.
