Searchers step up efforts to find the body of a Johnson City man.

All this week teams have searched the Susquehanna River.

They're looking for 21-year-old Joseph McAfee.

He was last seen Saturday after jumping off the Route 26 bridge in the Town of Union.

About 8 boats along with canine and dive teams started out near Grippen Park in Endicott.

A State Police helicopter also looks from above.

They're hopeful because the river level has dropped about 3 feet in the last week.

"We'll never call it a last-ditch effort, we're going to continue to search. We just have to weigh the resources and the abilities of each of them and the river dropping, and adjust accordingly each day," says Brett Chellis of Broome County Emergency Services.

Chellis says debris left in the river from past flooding makes the search effort more difficult.

About 90 people were involved in Friday's search.

He's not sure if they will be out again Saturday.
