Operation Crystal Apple II Plea's

Jennifer Gritton, 37, of Cleveland, NY pled guilty today in United States District Court,

Binghamton, to the felony crime of conspiracy to possess and distribute methamphetamine. Gritton was the last of five defendants to plead guilty who were originally charged in May of 2007 in the second phase of an investigation dubbed "Operation Crystal Apple".

"Operation Crystal Apple" was a lengthy investigation into the interstate trafficking of crystal methamphetamine. The investigation was conducted by local, state and federal law enforcement agencies, including the New York State Police, City of Binghamton Police Department, the Broome County Sheriff's Office, the Town of Vestal Police Department, the Village of Endicott
Police Department, the Village of Johnson City Police Department, the Broome County District

Attorney's Office, the New York State National Guard, the United States Postal Service, the U.S.

Secret Service, the United States Attorney's Office in the Northern District of New York and the

Drug Enforcement Administration. In addition to Gritton, the following individuals pled guilty within the last week to the felony

charge of conspiracy to possess and distribute methamphetamine and are scheduled to be sentenced

on the following dates:

Justin Cron, 26, of 98 North St., Johnson City, NY Sentencing Date, August 19, 2008

Jeffrey Niles, 39, of 1518 East Main Rd., Johnson City, NY Sentencing Date August 19, 2008

James Muska, 53, of 106 North St, Johnson City, NY Sentencing Date August 20, 2008
Patricia LaFlamme, 51, of 1162 CR 11, Parish, NY Sentencing Date September 5, 2008

Each of the defendants face a possible maximum sentence of twenty years imprisonment and a maximum fine of $1,000,000.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Thomas P. Walsh.
