Tioga Downs is betting on a busy season, and to get ready it's looking to fill open positions.

The racino in Nichols has both full-time and part-time job openings.

Including sales, security, and food and beverage.

The racino is kicking off its season this Saturday, which is Kentucky Derby Day.

That's when its live harness racing begins.

And to celebrate, it's taking part in a Derby tradition: the hat contest.

As well as a t-shirt giveaway and fireworks.

"Business is going to be great. We're just really excited. We have a lot of new employees on board who are going to help us with all these customers," Pete Savage of American Racing & Entertainment.

The racino is hiring more people after it got a big boost from New York State.

A new law allows Tioga Downs to keep more of its profits.
