A potential setback for the sale of a Binghamton hotel.

The Regency Hotel is owned by the city.

In January, Scranton-based Nexus Hospitality announced it would buy the hotel for almost 6 million dollars.

But, it's still meeting with potential lenders to finance the final purchase.

Once the financing is complete, the company has 30 days to close on the property.

There had been a 60-day waiting period before the announced sale would be final.

The city says it's now extending that period.

Nexus Hospitality could not be reached for comment.
