The BU student charged with the death of a fellow student is a free man tonight.

20 year-old Rolyden Liu of Long Island made bail and was released from Tompkins County Jail.

He's charged with Vehicular Manslaughter and Driving While Intoxicated.

Police say Liu was driving drunk early Saturday morning when he crashed in the Town of Caroline.

A passenger, 22-year old Willie Poon of Staten Island suffered severe head injuries and died at the hospital.

He was a senior at BU.

Three other people were in the car.

The Tompkins County District Attorney says he will seek a grand jury indictment.

Poon's fraternity Lambda Phi Epsilon will be holding a memorial ceremony this Saturday.

It will be held at 1 o'clock on campus in the University Union.
