Testani Running For Supervisor

July 22, 2010 Updated May 22, 2008 at 5:08 PM EDT

A Democrat from Johnson City will run for Town of Union supervisor.

56 year old Jim Testani made the announcement surrounded by family and supporters at the Endicott Visitors Center.

Testani says he's heard from many people in towns two villages, Endicott and Johnson City.

He says some are not aware they're also represented in the Town of Union.

If elected, he wants to make the town council more visible.

He also says he'll focus on issues like consolidation of services.

"We'll look at our role as a leader in the effort to being moving services together and our mandate is to do it responsibly. We will look at proposals to make the Town of Union very green," says Testani.

Testani is a teacher at Johnson City High School and Broome Community College.

Endicott Trustee and democrat Frank Tinklepaugh also announced he will run for the Town of Union council.
