An Ithaca man is sentenced to three and a half years in state prison for robbing a bank.

In April, 52 year old George Griffith pleaded guilty to robbing this HSBC bank on Tioga Street in Ithaca.

It happened back in January.

Police say he showed what appeared to be a gun covered in a white sock, demanded money, then fled on foot.

He was caught by police minutes later, with more than 8 thousand dollars.

Griffith was convicted of second degree robbery.
