Cindy Sheehan spoke at SUNY Oneonta Tuesday night about her nationally recognized lecture titled "How One Person Can Make a Difference." Sheehan briefly touched on her feelings towards the war in Iraq, but quickly turned her attention to the lecture.
Many people in attendance were supportive of Sheehan's anti-war approach and welcomed the opportunity to learn how one person can make a difference. However, others in opposition questioned her motives and use of her son's story to make a name for herself.
Sheehan’s son died in Iraq, so she began a protest outside President Bush’s Crawford Ranch over the summer. She then returned to further protest during the President’s Thanksgiving vacation. Sheehan has even protested outside the White House in Washington D.C.
