The U.S. Housing and Urban Development, or HUD, is giving 200 thousand dollars to support Binghamton University's C3 project.

C-3 is the Center City Coordination Program. B.U. partners with more than 25 community agencies and organizations working on neighborhood revitalization programs in and around downtown.

University President Lois DeFleur says the University's future downtown Education Center will also help C3 grow stronger.

"We will have a number of other groups that are physically located down here and we will have the ability for them to get together and more easily cooperate and do more projects that benefit the community," says B.U. President Lois DeFleur.

The recent funding will continue to support the outreach efforts for adults focusing on job training and opportunities in our area.
