In President Bush's 2003 State of the Union address, he said Iraq was seeking uranium from Africa. That statement turned out to be false. Now, Congressman Maurice Hinchey is seeking the truth.
Hinchey says he believes the false claim was to meant to scare the American people and congress, into going to war with Iraq.
Even though there was no proof that the country had weapons of mass destruction.Hinchey wants the White House to present congress with all drafts and documents related to the making of the State of the Union Address. After a two hour debate last week, the House Committee on International Relations kept alive a resolution that would do just that. The resolution will be brought back before the committee this week.
