People came from all over, trying to reach their holiday travel destination somewhere in New York state.According to Triple A, more than 51 million people will hit the road this holiday season.

And even though gas prices are up 30 cents from this time last year, that didn't stop one couple from Georgia from making a one-thousand mile trip to visit family in Utica.

"So how does it feel for the thousand mile drive to almost be done? It feels great," said Michael Ceislack.

Triple A says the top cities for hotel bookings this holiday season are Orlando, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles.
New York City came in fourth.
