The first was a healthy baby boy, born at 5:04am to Gloria and Clevius Crowder of Binghamton at Wilson Hospital in Johnson City.
The second was a healthy little girl, who now shares a birthday with her grandfather.
Sage McKenna Tifft was born Sunday morning at 10:23 at Wilson.
Born to Michele and Andrew Tifft of Binghamton, Sage weighed 6 pounds 8 ounces.
Sage's birth was a great 60th birthday present to her grandfather, who was also born on New Year's Day.
"It was a surprise. She was supposed to be born on January 9th. Well, that was my due date. And my father and me would joke around that we would have her on New Year's Day, on his birthday, and it turned out that we did," says Michelle Tifft.
This is Michelle's 3rd child.
