The Tioga County Open Door Mission heard from a recovery center in Perkinston, Mississippi.
It's looking for winter clothes and blankets for 400 people.
In response, the Mission is asking for our help to collect and send those donations to Mississippi.
"They're not used to the colder temperatures that they've been getting. Recently over the past week its been a little warmer down there. But when it drops below 40 degrees they get cold," says Wendy Post of the Open Door Mission.
You can drop off used or new items Thursday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at 425 North Avenue in Owego.
Make sure any used clothing is still in good, clean shape.
The group is also looking for cash donations for gas.
The truck will leave next Thursday.
