A father and his young daughter are found dead in their Susquehanna County home.
Pennsylvania State Police say it looks like the dad killed the girl, then himself.
Action News Reporter Julianne Sweeney tells us this family tragedy leaves neighbors saddened.
Pennsylvania State Police believe 47-year old Clark Thomas Steele shot and killed his daughter Olivia.
Then, turned the gun on himself.
Troopers say it happened Monday morning in the Steele's home in Springville Township.
Jesse Trunk lives down the road.
"It's pretty shocking news to hear what happened right here in Springville. It's a pretty small town, not too people people here, so." says Trunk.
Neighbor Rhea Lee knew Tommy Steele for years.
She says he used to work at the local grocery store.
He also used to volunteer with the fire department.
Lee is devastated by the news.
"It's just awful. I can't believe he'd do such a thing." says Lee.
The bodies were discovered Monday afternoon by Steele's older son.
One neighbor tells Action News the children's mother left them with their father several years ago.
In the aftermath, everyone is trying to come to grips with the deaths.
"We see a lot of partying and things going on like that. But as far as a shooting, yeah murder, we've never seen anything like that." says Trunk.
The Susquehanna County's Coroner's Office says autopsies show both died from single gunshot wounds to the head.
