Local students explore the inner workings of a hospital at MASH Camp.

Wilson Hospital is showing 8th and 9th graders potential health careers in the Medical Academy Of Science And Health or M.A.S.H.

The students see the emergency, maternity, and operating areas.

Here, the kids are making labels for drugs in the pharmacy.

Hands on activities highlight skills, technology, and equipment that health care professionals use every day.

"It shows them that it's not just about doctors, and nurses, blood, guts, things like that. There's all sorts of things that are needed in health care. We need workers in health care, and we want to show them what a great place it is to work," says Candis Contento, Nurse Educator.

This is the 6th summer of M.A.S.H. Camp.

Students are picked from schools throughout Broome County each year.

The Central New York Area Health Education Center Organizes the Event.
