This is the 36th year for the Maple Fest, celebrating the fresh maple syrup harvest.

Pure maple syrup and a lot of other maple products will be available.

There's also a NASA space exhibit with astronaut Ellen Baker, horse-drawn wagon rides, a pancake-eating contest, and much more.

The Maple Festival is Saturday and Sunday, right off Interstate 81, in Marathon.

You can hop a train ride to get the Maple Fest.

The New York, Susquehanna, and Western Railway is providing weekend train rides from Binghamton.

The train leaves each morning at 9:00, and returns in the afternoon around 4:15.

Departures and arrivals are at the railroads freight house, at the corner of Chenango and Eldridge streets.

"It's going to be a lot of fun. We're going to have food on the train and it is a really nice relaxing way. You don't have to deal with the traffic or pay for gas," says Melanie Boyer of NYS & W Railways.

For a train schedule and cost, again the information is available on the website: maplefest.org.
