Four Fire Departments worked together to suffocate a fire in a Newark Valley house.
Campville, Weltonville, Newark Valley, and the Village of Owego Fire Departments were there for water purposes.
The report came in at 9:50 this morning...and took 20 minutes to put out.
Significant damage was done to the first floor of the house.
"the first chief on scene reported smoke showing. Further going into the building, there was a heavy fire in 2 side rooms, a front room, and small extensions to the second floor," says Tom Taft, Village of Owego Fire Chief.
Nobody was in the house during the fire.
The cause is under investigation.
Firefighters say people will be able to re-enter the house in a couple days, after the power is turned back on.
