President elect Obama's choice of Senator Hillary Clinton as his Secretary of State means New York State will have a new Senator joining Charles Schumer in the Senate.
He says he'll miss working with Clinton but approves her selection to Secretary of State.
"To have a Secretary of State who is as experienced, as smart, and as sort of roll up your sleeves and let's get the problem solved attitude as Hillary Clinton is really something that's very much needed," said Schumer.
He would not say who he feels should replace Clinton in the Senate.
That decision will be made by Governor David Patterson.
