A local Jewish group honors the victims of last weeks terror attacks in India.

The Chabad Center for Jewish Student Life held this memorial service in Vestal.

Candles were lit to remember those lost.

During the attacks in Mumbai, a Chabad house was targeted.

A rabbi and his wife were killed.

Akiev Samson is from outside Mumbai, and frequented that area of the city.

He hopes the attacks will never be forgotten.

"Instead of just what happens is we have a terrorist attack, two or three days everyone forgets about it," said Samson. "And again four months later we have something, two, three days everyone forgets about it. This cannot keep happening."

"To us this is one of the ways that we can change the world and show the world that this philosophy of those terrorist is not going to deter us,"said Rabbi Aaron Slonim.

Slonim hopes this event will strengthen the Jewish faith's effort in spreading joy and light even during the darkest of circumstances.
