State Police Investigating Armed Robbery in Chenango County

-On January 7, 2008, the New York State Police at Norwich responded to a reported armed robbery to the Quickway convenience store on State Route 8, in South New Berlin. Chenango County Emergency services received a 911 call at approximately 7:31 PM from that location.

State Police patrols were assisted by the Town of New Berlin Police Department, along with the Chenango County Sheriff's Office. A white male described as approximately 5'9"-5'10" tall, and 160 pounds, wearing a black ski mask, with a grey hooded sweatshirt, underneath a white and black checkered flannel jacket, displayed a long gun and demanded cash.

The suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction. The investigation is continuing by the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation. Anyone with information is being asked to contact the State Police at (607) 561-7400.
