A spokesperson for Harvard Custom Manufacturing in Owego calls it the largest layoff in 5 years.

While the company calls it significant, it won't comment on the exact number of people let go.

Harvard said the plant completed a contract and temporary workers hired for the job were laid off.

However, it also cut back on other positions.

Layoffs took place at the Owego facility and a temporary site in the Town of Maine.
