Owego Man Charged for his Role in Elmira Home Invasion

Investigators with the Elmira Police Department arrested Jim D. Ryant, 22 yrs of age, from Owego NY, for his role in the October 14th, Home Invasion at 470 W 1st St..

During the commission of the crime, Ryant’s accomplice, 18 year old Marshall D. Brown suffered fatal injuries.
Jim Ryant was charged with Burglary 1st degree, a class “B” Felony and Attempted Robbery 1st degree, a class “C” Felony.

Ryant was arraigned in Elmira City Court and committed to the Chemung County Jail on $25,000 cash / $50,000 property bond bail.
NYSP Horseheads and Owego did assist with this investigation.
