Colegrove Trial Day 4 -- Update

July 22, 2010 Updated Jan 23, 2009 at 12:00 PM EDT

A DNA expert and state police took the stand this morning, in a murder trial of a deposit man accused of killing his family.
32 year old Steven Colegrove of is accused of shooting his mother, father and brother with a shotgun in their Tuscarora Township home in August 2007.
A DNA expert could not testify in court, but sent a sworn statement.
The statement said blood found inside and outside the barrel of a shotgun found at Colegrove's home in Deposit, matched Michael Colegrove.
An second unknown DNA sample was found inside of the gun, but that sample didn't match Steven or the other Colegroves.
DNA analysis also determined that Joseph Colegrove was not Steven's biological father.
During an interview with state police Steven said his mother had left a letter for his brother Robert in a gun safe.
That letter said that Robert would only be getting 1 dollar in his parent's will.
An attorney testified yesterday that he had never drafted will on behalf or Marlene or Joseph Colegrove.
Prosecutors alleged Colegrove killed his family to get an inheritance of nearly $100,000
Robert Colegrove, Steven's brother, is expected to testify this afternoon.
