Colegrove Murder Trial: Brother Takes Stand

The brother of 32 year old Steven Colegrove takes the stand in his triple murder trial in Bradford County Court.

Colegrove is accused of killing his parents and another brother in August of 2007 in Tuscarora Township.

Robert Colegrove testified against Steven.

Robert told jurors he had not spoken to his brother in about 8 years.

The defense has argued Robert had more motive to kill the family.

Robert admitted there was a falling out over his adoption of a little girl.

State police found a letter to him from Marlene saying he was no son of hers, and would inherit only a dollar.

She signed that letter your ex mother.

Robert also said he was not aware Steven was his half-brother until after the murders.

Tests showed Joseph Colegrove was not Steven's biological father.

State police said during interviews with Steven, he was nervous and told several lies.

Troopers found a bruise on Steven's right shoulder and believed it was caused by firing a shotgun.

They did not find any shoulder bruises on Robert Colegrove.
