A GPS expert takes the stand in a murder trial in Chenango County.
42-year old George Ford, Jr. of New Jersey is accused of killing 12-year old baby sitter Shyanne Somers.
His family has a seasonal home in South Otselic.
The prosecution claims a GPS device on Ford's truck shows he intentionally ran over Somers on Will Warner Road in July 2007.
The defense says it was an accident that occurred after she got out to see a horse.
A Vice President of the global positioning system company, Land, Sea, and Air, testified this morning.
This expert created animated maps that track the direction Ford's truck travelled that night.
The GPS device shows the truck was stopped in the area of Will Warner Road for about 3-hours.
Afterward, it travelled to Chenango Memorial Hospital in Norwich in a roundabout way.
Ford says he did not drive Sommers directly to the hospital because he got lost.
Ford is charged with 2nd degree murder.
He waived his right to a jury trial.
Broome County Judge Jospeh Cawley is overseeing proceedings.
