An Elmira man is charged with the death of a young child.
Elmira Police arrested 22-year-old Avery Baker Junior on 2nd degree murder charges.
On Friday police took a call from St. Joseph's Hospital in Elmira.
Workers told police that a 20-month-old child was unresponsive in the emergency room.
The child died shortly after police arrived.
Police won't discuss a cause of death, or how Baker was related to the child.
Baker was taken to the Chemung County Jail.
He'll be arraigned in Elmira City Court tomorrow morning.
