After sifting through tips, deputies found 28 year old Alvia Singleton of Brooklyn on the east side of Binghamton.

He's charged with felony robbery.

Detectives say he confessed to taking part in the armed robbery at The Jewelry Shop in the Town of Union.

On September 7, two men walked into the Jewelry Shop on North Street.

Once inside, they tied up two workers and held them at gunpoint.

The two took about a quarter of a million dollars worth in jewelry and fled on foot.

Investigators have not found the jewelry or second suspect.

"We believe he went back to New York City and he also took the proceeds from the robbery with him. We're working with New York City PD on that end," says Broome County Sheriff David Harder.

The Sheriff says Singleton did not tell investigators the man's name and anyone with information can call the Broome Sheriff's department.

Singleton was arraigned in the Town of Union court and sent to the Broome County jail without bail.
