On March 10, 2009, the Broome County Grand Jury handed up an indictment charging Anthony Carnevale III (23) of Kirkwood, New York with Murder in the First Degree and two counts of Murder in the Second Degree in connection with the January 20, 2009 death of Jean Clark at a residence of Ethan Button in the Town of Windsor

. Carnevale was also charged with one count of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, two counts of Assault in the First Degree, two counts of Attempted Robbery in the First Degree and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree in connection with the January 20, 2009 shooting and attempted robbery of Ethan Button. Ashley Carnevale (20) of Kirkwood, New York was charged in the same indictment with two counts of Murder in the Second Degree, two counts of Assault in the First Degree and two counts of Attempted Robbery in the First Degree.

The case was investigated by the New York State Police, and District Attorney Gerald F. Mollen is prosecuting the indictment.

An indictment is merely an accusation and is not evidence of guilt. As with every defendant in a criminal case, Anthony Carnevale and Ashley Carnevale are presumed innocent unless and until they enter a plea of guilty or are proven guilty at trial beyond a reasonable doubt.
