For the first time in school history, Binghamton University is going dancing.

Thanks to a win on Saturday in the America East Conference Final, BU has a spot in the NCAA tournament.

As Action News reporter Gabe Osterhout tells us, the thought of the Bearcats being underdogs hasn't damped the spirits of the B.U. faithful.

Excitement is brimming on campus at Binghamton University.

The Bearcats will play in their first ever NCAA tournament.

And students are proud of their team.

"You wouldn't believe the energy here...I mean, you can literally feel it. Everybody has been brought together. There's a greater sense of community. I feel like we're going to a great school right now," says B.U. Junior Joshua Berk.

Binghamton's first round opponent is NCAA tournament veteran Duke University.

But that hasn't dampened the spirits of Binghamton University fans.

"I know a lot of my friends are very excited, trying to figure out how to get to the game. That's our main obstacle. But people are excited. It's a big deal for Binghamton," says B.U. sophomore Emily Duman.

"I kinda favor them a little bit for the first round because Duke did get knocked out last year in the first round so hopefully that comes and we can use that for an advantage," says Brian Molina, B.U. Junior.

The university has 550 tickets for Thursday's first round game.

It will hold two lotteries, one for undergraduate students and one for season ticket holders and alumni.

But some students aren't waiting for the lottery.

Scott Reing and his friends already bought tickets online.

"We're driving down to Virginia Thursday morning, we're staying there for a second, then we're going to Greenesboro, North Carolina and then we're heading back Friday for class so it's a day trip to North Carolina," says senior Scott Reing.

Fans say win or lose, they're still proud the team made it this far.

If you are a Binghamton University alumni or season ticket holder, and want to be included in the lottery, here's what you must do.

Go to www.bubearcats.com, and follow the directions to get a ticket request form.

The form must be faxed to 777-3638, or dropped off at the Event's Center Suite 219 by 8:00 tonight.

Each person is limited to two tickets.

And if you win the lottery, you must purchase the tickets.

There will be no refunds.
