Group Moves to Dissolve Johnson City

Another movement to dissolve is happening in Johnson City.

Tomorrow morning, the Dissolve Johnson City Committee will send out informational pamphlets.

More than 8,000 pamphlets will be sent to village residents.

They explain things like potential tax savings if the village was to dissolve.

And the committee hopes to start gathering petition signatures this week.

The group hopes to counter information sent out by the J-C Firefighters Union.

Firefighters said a dissolution would compromise public safety.

Like you saw in Windsor, the committee must gather signatures from one third of registered voters.

Then the village board must appoint a committee to look into dissolving.
