Broome County's Office building in downtown Binghamton will be closed for the next 2 to 4 weeks.
The Edwin L. Crawford Building has been closed since yesterday.
Dust from underground parking construction crept upstairs through elevator shafts.
The state has since halted that project.
The County is having wipe and air samples tested to be sure the powder substance is not toxic.
Initial tests show it to be non-toxic, but they're still waiting on final results.
Broome County Executive Barbara Fiala says they are doing everything they can to maintain county operations to the best of their ability.
All departments can still be reached by their extensions.
And right now, finance, legal and payroll departments are set temporarily in the Broome County Emergency services building in the town of Dickinson.
Department relocation information can be found at gobroomecounty.com.
