The Salvation Army, Catholic Charities, and United Way's First Call for Help are teaming up for the Community Holiday Program.

It will provide families with a Thanksgiving basket with all the traditional foods.

And Toys for Tots will ensure children will have a present to open.

Volunteers call this the most fulfilling work they will do all year.

"Oh I think this is the neatest thing. We've gotten more people involved this year because it is one of the most exciting ways to volunteer because when we start to do the toy shop for the children and everything, the people just enjoy that," says Major Linda Lee of the Salvation Army.

Last year the program helped 500 families enjoy the holidays.

You can sign up your family for Thanksgiving baskets through Wednesday from Noon until 6 at Saint Mary's of the Assumption Parish Center on Hawley Street in Binghamton.

Christmas signups can be done at the same time.

Don't forget to bring proof of residency, and an ID for each member of your household.

Flood victims should bring their FEMA letter showing their home was damaged.
