This is video of Williams at his trial in Tioga County last month.

The jury could not agree on a verdict.

A new trial on felony rape and sex abuse charges was set for November.

But Friday, Williams plead guilty to a misdemeanor charge of sex abuse.

That case involved a 3 year old girl at his wife's daycare center.

Williams will serve 6 years probation and enter a sex offender treatment program.

His attorney says they didn't want to risk another jury trial when the plea agreement guaranteed no prison time.

But the Tioga County DA says Williams will have to register as a sex offender which means he will be monitored for life.

He also says the families of the 2 girls involved were prepared to go to trial, but are satisfied with this outcome.

While Williams is an Owego Trustee, he has not been attending board meetings.

He had filed claim for damages against Owego police and the village.

His attorney says that's withdrawn with his guilty plea.

But Owego Mayor John Loftus could not say yet what it could mean for William's position as a trustee.

He is consulting with the village attorney.
