This afternoon Chemung County Sheriff’s Investigators arrested 47 year old Nancy A. Tebo, of Horseheads, NY, after an eight month long investigation into the death of an 87 year old Horseheads woman identified as Irene M. Osborne.

On 10/02/08, Sheriff’s Deputies responded to Ms. Osborne’s residence at Level Acres Trailer Park in the Town of Horseheads for an unattended death complaint. Upon arrival, Deputies discovered Ms. Osborne was deceased. Subsequent to that investigation and autopsy results received from the Monroe County Medical Examiner’s Office, an investigation into the exact cause of death ensued. As a result of that investigation, Nancy Tebo was indicted by a Chemung County Grand Jury on 05/27/09 for the following charges:

Murder in the 2nd Degree
Burglary in the 1st Degree
Robbery in the 1st Degree

Tebo has been incarcerated in the Chemung County Jail on unrelated charges since October 2008. She was arraigned by Chemung County Court Judge James T. Hayden and sent back to the Chemung County Jail pending a future court appearance.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the New York State Police, the Elmira Police Department, the West Elmira Police Department and the Horseheads Police Department, as well as the Chemung County District Attorney’s Office during the investigation.
