Newschannel 34 will stop broadcasting ITS newscasts, and instead, air newscasts from a TV station in Elmira.

WIVT Newschannel 34 fired most of its news and production staffs today.

The TV station says 11 full time employees were let go from their office on Ingraham Hill Road in the Town of Binghamton.

Long time anchor Steve Craig is among those who lost their jobs.

Sources say only 2 news employees will remain.

WETM-TV in Elmira will now broadcast its newscasts on Newschannel 34, with some local reports on the Binghamton area.

Both are owned by Newport Television.
