Update: Firefighters Battle Binghamton Warehouse Blaze

July 22, 2010 Updated Jun 8, 2009 at 9:40 AM EST

Binghamton firefighters worked throughout the night to extinguish flames that broke out at a First Ward Warehouse late Sunday.

Firefighters responded to the building on Titchener Place shortly before 9:30 p.m.

The Building is thought to be an industrial warehouse.

Nearby neighbors had to be evacuated due to the possibility of chemicals in the building.

But firefighters say those chemicals were not hazardous and residents have been allowed back into their homes.

Railroad tracks in the city were shut down for a period of time last night, but are back open this morning..

Firefighters tell Action news, no one was hurt and they are still investigating a cause.
