A teenager raises big money to support an injured soldier he's never met.
Erik Schutz says he was moved by the story of Windsor native Rick Yarosh.
Yarosh was nearly killed in September during a tank explosion in Baghdad.
He's recovering now in Texas.
Meanwhile in Long Island, Schutz heard about Yarosh's story and wanted to help.
The high school senior says he felt compelled to help out the soldier's family.
So the teen sent letters to people, asking for help.
He got nearly 29 thousand dollars in donations.
Schutz had previously raised money the same way for AIDS and multiple sclerosis charities.
Yarosh's mother says she's overwhelmed by the teenager's efforts for her son.
