Police identity a man found murdered in his apartment Friday.

Endicott police say the victim is 21-year-old Joseph Trottier.

Trottier was found dead in his apartment at 33 Jackson Avenue in Endicott.

Police discovered him Friday around 10pm.

Trottier was murdered and police say he died from asphyxiation.

Investigators say they've interviewed several people in the case, but still haven't made an arrest.

Police say it appears to be just an isolated attack.

"We're leaning toward some beliefs where we don't believe it was just random, where he was just picked out just coincidentally," says Village of Endicott Police Captain James Sheerin.

Police also say a fire was intentionally set in Trottier's apartment, but it burned out on its own.

If you were in the Jackson Avenue area on Friday between 3 and 7 a.m, or know anything about the murder, police want to hear from you.

You're asked to call Endicott detectives at 757-2479.
