Local law enforcement seized 7 Kilos of Cocaine during an investigation to break up a distribution ring.

7 people were arrested between Friday, July 17 and Saturday, July 18.

The Broome County Sheriff's and State Police Special Investigations Units worked 4 months to break up the network.

It stretched from Broome County to Union City, New Jersey.

They seized 7 kilos of cocaine and $52,000 in cash.

The following people were arrested:

Richard P. Langanere, 27, lives in Union City, NJ but is originally from New York.

Nicholas D. Jewell, 30, Castle Creek, NY

James R. Slocum , 29, Binghamton, NY

Brooke L. Bautz, 26, Town of Chenango, NY

Paul J. Gondek, 30, Binghamton, NY

Ray S. Williams, 22, Binghamton, NY

Mindi E. Smith, 22, Binghamton, NY

More arrests are expected.

The United States Attorney’s Office, Broome County District Attorney’s Office and the United States Marshall Regional Fugitive Task Force are also involved in the investigation.
